What is a Facelift?
A facelift is a plastic surgery procedure that aims to rejuvenate the face, giving it a more youthful, tightened, and lifted appearance. There are various facelift techniques that can be employed depending on your needs and unique goals. Regardless of which method you decide to go with, a facelift can be a wonderful way to naturally enhance your look and take years off your face.

About Quick-Recovery Facelifts
While traditional facelift procedures require a recovery period of four to six weeks, Dr. Newall uses advanced facelift techniques that produce comparable results while allowing patients to return to work and socializing in just seven to 10 days. These are typical results, but like any procedure, healing time varies from patient to patient.
Called a deep plane facelift, the surgery requires minimal dissection of the skin while still allowing Dr. Newall to effectively tighten the deeper facial tissues and muscles to give the face a more uplifted and youthful appearance. Tension is put on the deeper facial planes to avoid excessive tension on the outer layers of the face, so that bruising is greatly minimized. The youthful results from a facelift typically last anywhere from eight to 10 years.
“As people are more active in their social lives and their work, they have less time available for facial operations. It is imperative that these procedures provide excellent rejuvenation while allowing a prompt recovery.” -Dr. German Newall, MD, FACS, FICS
What Happens During a Facelift?
Dr. Newall makes a series of incisions in the skin, and then separates this skin from the underlying muscle and fat. This allows him to tighten muscles and remove excess skin to ultimately give the face and neck a smoother, more uplifted appearance. The incisions are then closed with sutures which usually may be removed in approximately five days, though this can vary depending on the individual. The scalp may require additional healing time.
Patients commonly choose to combine a facelift procedure with eyelid surgery and a brow lift to restore a refreshed and younger appearance to the eyes and forehead.
What is a Mini Facelift?
A mini facelift, also known as a quick-lift or a weekend lift, is a surgical procedure that will rejuvenate the lower area of your face by addressing wrinkles and sagging due to aging. A mini facelift focuses on the cheeks and jawline with a minimal incision and shortened recovery time. A mini facelift is ideal for achieving a more toned appearance without undergoing a more invasive procedure such as a full facelift, which may be too aggressive for some patients. Ideal candidates for a mini facelift are in their 30’s or 40’s, in good health, and have good skin elasticity but are still experiencing sagging around the neck, jaw, or cheekbone.
